Transport and travel

Although being located in the midst of beautiful rural countryside, Macclesfield is far from isolated. Easily accessible to and from urban centres such as Manchester (Piccadilly - 16miles/20minutes) or London (Euston -  146miles/1hr46minutes) by train, making it a great location due to its' travel infrastructure. (www.nationalrail.co.uk/stations). So, whether you work for a small local business or a large global organisation you'll find Macclesfield an ideal location.

Macclesfield’s station sits on the West Coast Train line. This makes Macclesfield an ideal spot for a weekend escape from London or fine for a day trip to ‘the Smoke’ in reverse. www.virgintrains.co.uk
Taxis stand at the Train Station and can be preordered by phone.

Buses run to nearby towns and villages and the bus station is well placed in the centre of the town. www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/.../bus
The M6 and M60 are a comfortable drive from Macclesfield and Manchester airport for national and international flights is approx 8 miles away. www.manchesterairport.co.uk

Alternatively if speed is not your priority you could arrive by narrow boat on the Macclesfield canal (www.macclesfieldcanal.org.uk) or use one of the many cyclepaths such as the Middlewood way for a more leisurely approach.
