Make it Macclesfield is a Community Interest Company with the following objectives:
• To encourage and promote an environment that allows social, cultural and commercial enterprise to flourish in the community of Macclesfield;
• To encourage and promote entrepreneurial spirit and enterprise in the community through investment in new ventures and by the provision of support and advice. Where appropriate it will manage new ventures for the benefit of the community;
• To raise the profile of Macclesfield as a unique and attractive place to visit, live and work, raising awareness of the activities of and potential offered by the local community across the region and beyond;
• To provide a platform for an open and transparent forum to enable all individuals and organisations with an interest the town to participate in debate of local issues and to inform the CIC’s strategy and direction.
Initially supported by grants from Cheshire East Council we are actively seeking other sources of funding and were recently awarded a Mary Portas grant.
The Community Interest Company’s Directors, Clare Hayward, Graeme Bristow, Micky Jones, Nigel Manton, Rhiannon Raftery, Mike Rance and Gareth White, are part of a wider forum which addresses various projects and priorities for the town. Members of the Board are volunteers and involvement in MIM’s Forum is on a voluntary basis.
