Local Social Enterprise Offers Help to Reduce Energy Bills

Leap LogoCommunity Interest Company Go-Lo Macclesfield has teamed up with Wirral-based charity Energy Projects Plus to deliver LEAP, a free Energy and Money Saving Service, in Cheshire East.

The LEAP scheme offers eligible local residents – owner occupiers, private rented and social housing tenants – totally free advice and support to help them to save money and keep their homes warmer.

Go-Lo’s qualified Home Energy Advisor will check your energy bills and help you switch to the cheapest available tariff, often saving as much as £280. The LEAP Advisor can access funding for home owners to replace broken boilers or towards first time central heating, as well as other energy efficiency improvements.

They will also take the opportunity to review how energy efficient your home is. As well as giving you day to day energy tips and ensuring that your heating system is set up correctly the Advisor will install, free, a range of simple energy saving measures such as LED light bulbs and draft excluders that can save the average household £50 a year.

A free telephone advice service is also available to help with benefits, debt and other money problems if you feel you need help.
Residents may qualify for the LEAP Service if one or the following apply: have a low income, receive tax credits, or housing or disability related benefits. or have a long-term illness or disability.
