It's a shame, but this forum appears to be as ex as the parrot, it hasn't worked. It should have done, and some may blame the bickering that took place; but my own view is different. Those who are centrally involved in the town's changes decided, for whatever reason, not to engage. Not a word here from the MP, and only one Councillor raised his head above the parapet. It was pointless, therefore, to say anything because no one listened and no one responded. It was no better than the Macc Express.
Is it any surprise when your friend spent 69 comments just to attack me whenever I posted anything. He was even arrogant enough to threaten to set up an opposing web site because he could do better. (Still awaiting that threat to be fulfilled) If you wonder who that is, he likes your posts, and can be guaranteed to come back sniping. That is why I for one stopped posting.
Jerry, with all due respect, you were not the issue: those who did not engage in the first place were the issue. And if you had a particular grievance about a particular member (and why you should think I am 'his friend' frankly defeats me), normal forum convention would have been for you to take the matter up with the administrators who are perfectly capable of taking any action they feel necessary.
Pete, the site is failing because the concept was mistaken from the start and based upon flawed concepts which are not going to benefit the town and, in fact, making us something of a laughing stock. Such a shame to see the energy of well meaning people wasted. Those of us who care and are putting in energy into the town (trite suggestions about imaginary site wars can safely be ignored as the fevered imaginings of those who care little for the town) are trying to do much better but it takes time.
I think Pete that Frank's suggestions some time ago were quite sensible however, as you say, there seems to be no engagement from anyone from the mysterious Economic Forum. Also, there seems to be no moderation here, which has also been an issue
Just had a quick look around here for the first time. For some reason the football forum is the only lively chat board in town - on the many occasions it has strayed off-topic I have pointed people here and to the other site, with no apparent luck. I'm sorry Jerry, you'll have to take my word for it that I know no-one on here and have no axe to grind. But on a swift perusal I have to say your self-pitying carping and snivelling has probably done more than anything to choke the will to live out of the users of this board. I feel like self harming after just reading your stuff above.
